Onward Through Hell: Company L of Menominee - 125th Infantry Regiment - 32nd Division - At Hill 212 in World War I, by Ross Parcels. Thirty-three soldiers in a company of around 200, including nine men from Menominee, Michigan, were killed in France during Company L's first day in battle in World War I. This slim, well-researched book details what happened to the company on 31 July 1918, newspaper propaganda on the Menominee home front, and the aftermath of battle, including an examination of burial case files from the National Archives. The illustrated book includes photographs from the local archives of a book burning--German textbooks and other items German were burned--that took place in Menominee in June 1918. $19.95
